Default Root systems of palm trees. Question.

I have a small palm tree in the back yard, and for a long time I was
worried that its growing roots would lift up the ceramic pavers
surrounding it.

But I observe that the base of the palm seems to be growing around, up
and over the pavers and not lifting them at all.

Will this continue to be the case and is this true of palms generally?

Peter
