Petrified Wood And Desert Wildflowers

Over at http://mojave.topcities.com/redrock/redrockfossils.html I
recently uploaded a page called, Fossils At Red Rock Canyon State
Park, California, a northwestern Mojave Desert locale situated roughly
130 miles north of Los Angeles, a place that yields classic suites of
late Miocene--approximately 10 million years old--petrified woods
(primarily Black locust and palm, but Coast live oak, Mexican pinyon
pine and several other varieties have been identified) and vertebrate
fossils. Included at that page are a number of images of petrified
woods from the late Miocene Dove Spring Formation of the Red Rock
Canyon district, plus images of desert wildflowers in Red Rock Canyon
State Park (the wildfowers sections include photos from a personal
collection, in addition to Public Domain images courtesy CalPhotos).
All the links to the petrified woods and wildflowers are in the
Contents section.

By the way, if you can't get into the page right away, please try
again later. Sometimes I exceed my day's allotted bandwidth and my
server simply shuts me down for a short while.
