Nobody can say what it is because there is no picture or a link to a
picture.

Try posting your picture to alt.binaries.pictures.gardens instead.

It's a Faucaria, common name tiger jaws. Do a search on Faucaria & you may be
able to find the species.

There was a picture on the next message. I usually don't download attachments,
but this one looked honest. It is a Faucaria.

You should not mind Cereoid: he is computer-challenged.
Actually in my reader the picture just came up without my having to make any
decision.

It undoubtedly depends on your ISP. AOL always asks, "Are you sure you want to
download this attachment?"

There was no next message. Damn you Outlook Express for removing improperly
posted binaries.

If you are so sure it is a Faucaria, you should be able to name the species.
The revision of the genus by Groen has greatly reduced the number of species
to choose from.

You must be right, there.
My reader (Outlook Express) does not treat these as attachments, but as part
of the message. Outlook Express has its flaws but fortunately this goes
right without a hitch.

Not sure how the archives will treat this kind of thing.

Funny. Looks like an overweight Venus Flytrap to me.

Have you ever seen a Faucaria?

Peter Jason must not get out much and he is not at all familiar with the
plant kingdom.

Faucaria are not carnivorous plants.
