what alder-like tree grows in dense groves on N. California coast?
I need some info for something I'm writing:
what is the alder-like tree that grows in dense groves along the north California coast? like staghorn sumac - a thin weedy tree as thick as your arm, 20-30ft, grows on a slant. Any ideas? off to research - ะชื |

Red alder (Alnus rubra), abundant and almost weedy. It has more biomass than
any other hardwood in the Pacific Northwest. Scott "ะชื" wrote in message ...
