Default angiosperm inTolerance of phosphorous question

hello,
where can i find out WHY a certain angiosperm (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis)
is apparently inTolerant of phosphorous...
(and why these plants require potassium (not phosphorous) to enhance
flowers)
for example is it an enzyme deficiency?
thank you very much
