Default gealtinous eggs in our pond!

we bought a new water hyacinth and pond plant yesterday and this
morning we woke up to fine a zillion tiny gelatinous eggs all over the
pond walls and clinging to the hyacinth roots. does anyone know what
these may be? we spoke with the garden center and they suggested pond
salt which would kill them, do we want to kill them?
