Do tadpoles harm goldfish or just annoy them? We have an abundance of
tadpoles this year and they keep clinging to everything - plants, fish food,
bugs, EVERYTHING. I've had three brand new fish die in the week that I've
had them. I don't know if it's the tadpoles or something else at this point.

check posts on pond.rec. This was just being discussed and the conclusion
was that the water had become toxic from the frogs.... I haven't a clue but
people there do.

I have never herd of this but.................

A pond of a given size will surport so many tadpoles. Anymore than this
calculated size then alot of then die. So I persume that something is in the
water like a poison. My ponds are all linked together with a filter and
things so the dying tadpoles should be even around the ponds because they
are theroretically (long word there!) one pond. This toxin might kill the
fish. I don`t know or have forgoton.

I use this newsgroup because, at the time, it had more friendly people and
it was more personel. We even talked about our familys and holidays.
Now. ALL the regulars seem to be gone, except ME! Is that saying someting!?

I've been kill filed in the other room (ponds.rec) by a few of the
'regulars' but I still read and post there (my silly mistake of posting my
'political' views....). I only recommended doing a search there because it
really was just discussed...

if you go to this link, do a search for "tadpoles dying" (make sure to click
the search only in rec.ponds) you will find a lot of posts... They seem to
be dying a lot.

I'm thinking it's a combination of the weather we've been having and the
fact that there were just SO many of them. I think they probably gave off
too much waste for the small size of my pond (around 75 gallons).

But thanks for your comments!

Your Japanese beetles are only around for TWO WEEKS??? They must have
come here (TN). It's my understanding that they are now mating; the
grubs will begin feeding in the yard later in August (time for milky
spore), and next year they'll be back. I read that four o'clocks are
tasty and lethal to JB, so I am ordering some seeds. I have been
gardening since 1969, but this only the 2nd year I have had a JB
problem.
