Pump filter

Hi
I bought some time ago a Otter Maximus 3000, over this time the filter which is placed around the outside of the pump has gradually fallen to pieces. A replacement is around the £12 mark ( the pump only cost me £45) which seems to me very expensive for what appears to be some stiffish foam, a little like a pan scrub, which is made up from two pieces which are about 300mm x 100mmm and stitched at each end.
Does any one know where to purchase this material so I can make my own?

It's just an open cell foam John. I take it you are only using the pump
for a fountain because the foam is only there to stop the fountain head
nozzles getting blocked. Any fine material that isn't going to rot
would do. How about cutting the legs off a pair of tights? They won't
last as long as the foam did but they aren't that expensive.
