Old UV bulbs
Well I just guess you do what works for you and if it means moving the
thing from pond to pond and you are happy to do this then that is fine for you.....personally having read up on UV in research for my new pond...and having a husband that kind of has specialised knowledge in this stuff - I guess I will go with him and the concensus of others posting on this thread..... What works for you may not work for others.....therefore these advisory life spans are put for a purpose.....it is not possible to make the statement that these bulbs last for 6 years in all applications..... Would there be any device that would allow us to assess how good or bad our bulbs are? I would hate to throw one out with 75% efficiency. For that matter 20% if it still handled the load in my pond, why change it? Maybe that is the best answer. If it works, don´t change it. Tho somewhere the cost of running and inefficient bulb must come to the price of replacing it . Does anyone have an idea how to assess the efficiency and cost factors?
