Source for early Hyacinths in Toronto?
Any idea how early/where I can get some WH in Toronto? I didn't keep any
indoors this year, so I fear the dreaded string Algae if I don't get some coverage soon. |

my friend, The Pond Lady sells water plants wholesale. She sells
potted hardies in bloom/ready to bloom size for around 25 retail. But she does get some NEW named varieties that "collectors" want and each one of those costs her more. WH is not the best plant for veggie filters. they are too horizontal
require too much space and if the roots are nibbled just dont remove that much. tall plants put on a lot of upward growth with what they drag out of the water. What would you recommend for veggie filters? Our WH grows 12" root systems and 18" tops. Takes a lot of nutrients! Our water celery also has dense roots and big tops, but the roots are more of a MASS than those of the wh and thus have less flow-through filter effect. I am very interested in your preferences. Even Walmart sells their lilies for over $20.00. |

I have fast flow, I prefer cyperus and water celery for open root (not
