Pond Liner Question
I missed the original post, but I have a few words if I might be
permitted. Just Liners dot com has several types of liners listed on their site. I would suggest reading the different types of materials these liners are made of and their characteristics. Notice UV resistance on PVC. I would also like to point out the weight of the different material types has a bearing on shipping cost and handling after it is delivered to you and when you are placing it in the hole. You might notice Permalon is the one that gives the weight in the technical specifications. I also believe what they don't say, they left off for a reason. Shipping is expensive. http://www.justliners.com/Permalon.htm I didn't buy liners from them, but I have an EPDM and a Permalon liner pond and if I build another pond it will be a Permalon liner. Pond Liner Question
I have both epdm aned permalon. mine are formal ponds with square
corners which needs big folds and permalon makes very flat folds. big folds are death traps for fish as they move up the fold and then find themselves wedged into the fold at the top. permalon is stiff enough that I can pull a bit of the top fold out so the fold is open. OTOH, a more natural random shaped pond without corners and epdm is great for this. permalon is very stiff and doesnt make good little folds. Pond Liner Question
not if you dont have specific measurements. this is fine for a
concrete hole or solid structure, but most dirt ponds are not "regular". Ingrid At 10:16 PM 5/11/2007 -0500, you wrote: If the folds are an issue call the sales people at permalon. reefindustries.com They can preform your folds for a perfect fit. Dan |

Regards, Hal I vote for thicker material and deal with the folds. I used the 40 mil material in my 800 gal. kidney-shaped pond, and as long as you are folding as you fill the pond, you get a pretty good fit. Better to have stones, or plants that cover the edge, and after a while, the algae will dull the gloss of the liner. -- To reply by email, remove the word "space" |
