Pump Question

Hi All,

About a month ago, my pump stopped working. It's been in the pond for at
least three years, but it gets turned off during the winter months. At any
rate, the label on the pump is pretty much unreadable. Does anyone know if a
company called Diamond makes pond pumps? I think it is a 4,000 gph pump.
My memory is not so good about that part.

I'd like to know who to send it back to for repair.

Thanks, in advance, for your help.

David

Once you include shipping, it will probably cost you nearly as much to
repair the pump as it would to replace it (depending on the problem). You
might be better off buying a new pump. Assuming that you use such a large
pump to run a waterfall, I recomend a pondmaster Pro hy-drive pump:

Yes, there is a company called Diamond.
http://www.diamondpump.com/ I didn't notice where they made pond
pumps, but they do make sump pumps, and the site says pumps for every
homeowner's needs.

Most pond owners simply replace the pumps with pond pumps, they are
made to run 24/7 and as efficiently as the designer can manage to be
cost effective. Sump pumps are designed for heavier loads, running
intermittently and don't always last or operate as efficiently in
ponds as pond pumps.

I have no experience with such a large pump and although the
Pondmaster Pro ad looks good and comes from a well liked manufacturer.
I'm not sold on any brand and mostly shop for efficiency and price,
but I use pipe instead of flex tubing and would need a threaded
fitting instead of a barbed fitting as shown in this ad.
