This is becoming a daily happening! ;-( I happened to get a picture that I'd
like to share. Anyone have a recommendation on a photo sharing site where I
can post my picture?

TIA

I've got leaf netting over the pond so I'm not worried about the fish,
yet. I usually take it off after all the leaves have fallen but may want
to rethink that this year.

Thanks to Nick for his suggestion on posting a picture of the GBH that
visited my pond today. Here's the link. (Hope it works) ---
http://www.tinypic.info/files/fv88rltjl23oh6mgagbd.jpg

The pond is built into a slope, 20 feet long and 12 feet at it's widest
point. 3,000 gallons. 4 feet at the deepest point. Using a Bio falls filter.

The pond looks great, JB. Nice job and pic. Those @#$%^&* GBH's sure are
pretty, damnit!

Tinypic is neat, eh? The next time you use it, maybe you could make the pic
smaller first. Some of us (me, anyhow) are still on dialup. ;-D

Happy New Year to all ! ! !

Here's a shot taken in June from a similar angle (bedroom window) (Nick, the
2nd link is to a thumbnail picture but it is awfully small. I need to
research doing this some more. Sorry, I'm on dial up as well.)

That's mint in the filterfalls and cannas planted behind. Pickerel,
variegated grasses, etc. Limited direct sunlight so I have to only grow
lilies needing partial sun - Cherokee, Texas Dawn, Virginalis. On a good day
we'll have between 8 - 10 blooms out. Not had any luck with red ones (James
Bryant sp?) or lotus but I attribute this more to my koi being less tolerate
to me introducing new plants. I'd posted earlier last year about being
visited by a water moccasin.

Thanks for the interest.

WOW! What a difference between summer & winter. Beautiful! The winter
picture looks like it is just bare ground around it. Thanks so much for
putting that up.

We woke this morning to about 2" of wet snow. It was in the mid 40's late
last night, so I was a bit surprise to see it. So glad I did a water change
and got a glimpse of the fish yesterday. The screens are all covered again
and thus insulated. Water temp 40F. ~ jan

Thanks jan.

My wife breeds day lilies in the two terraced beds shown at the bottom &
right of the picture. At their peak, there are hundreds in bloom.

BTW - we live in central Arkansas.

Home today because of inclement weather. Had another visit by the GBH. I
could swear I'm counting fewer fish in the pond but not sure if that's for
real or they're just doing a good job hiding out. At least I can account for
my largest fish. No longer am I watching quietly while the GBH skulks over
to the pond's edge after landing. Instead, I'm flying out the door whooping
and clapping. sigh

Video of me whooping and clapping? Nope but I did post an earlier pic of the
GBH at http://www.tinypic.info/files/fv88rltjl23oh6mgagbd.jpg

Showed up again today BTW. I'm screwed. (Pardon my language.)

I kind of like the Utube approach. ;-) As long as you haven't just left the
shower. Course the later would get more hits. ;-)

Seems several nights in a row of running them off has scared off the
raccoons. Haven't seen or heard them lately and the seeds haven't been any
less in the AM. ~ jan
