Wakins
Uncovered and started up the lily pond today. Discovered that I have at
least one baby fish. Are wakins born dark like regular goldfish? Or colored like shubunkins? ~ jan ------------ Zone 7a, SE Washington State Ponds: www.jjspond.us |

I guess we are all ignorant about wakins! Our shubunkins have colored
early. We still have some 3 yr old dark goldfish. Big, fantails, but no color.Jim |

Baby went down the bottom drain, into filter, got stuck in screening and died. :-( So I won't find out. If I see any babies later this year I might move them out till they're bigger or figure out a safe escape opening for them thru the screen that still doesn't let crud thru. I could put a mesh basket over the bottom drain, but that sort of defeat the purpose of having one. Grrr! And the frog or 2 I had... left, so I don't even have frogs. Sure hope some come later, a year without goldfish fry or frog taddies, what will I do? :-( ~ jan ------------ Zone 7a, SE Washington State Ponds: www.jjspond.us |
