Oh.... yeah, that could be problem. The current koi club president has her
koi in an old swimming pool. She runs a small pump to a sprinkler and
waters her grass 24/7, one hose is filling and the other is watering the

Your pond sounds interesting. How big? Any brim with the bass? Any
grass carp to deal with weeds?

We have an acre pond near Jackson that has bass, brim and red-ears
with two grass carp who are doing a great job with the weeds. It is
young,(4 years) and the fish have been in 3 years. The brim have
grown like weeds (max. 10"). The bass seem to be doing well as well
(max. 24"). We are the only ones who fish it, so they really don't
understand about hooks and bait. Our gradndaughter loves that!

"Stress and release" is what I call it. It sure isn't much fun for
the fish. But then again, your karma must really suck to be reborn as
a fish. Maybe they deserve it.

Stress and release when it will not be eaten. We are, however, coming
close to time to thin the schools. Not being fished all that much,
the mid-range fish are quite plentiful. That does not help us get
trophy bass! I will meet with the warden to decide about thinning.
Then all my students will have brim and bass to eat! Tho some may go
to my neighbor's pond.

LOL! Galen, you're on a roll! I'd add "especially a bottom feeder". Some
koi though have it pretty good, so I've heard and seen on the net. ~ jan ;)
