Determining Liner Size
I am trying to determine how much liner Shareholders Pond will require. Here
are my numbers. I'd love it if someone could help me verify these. The way I came up with these numbers...I agonized over this and still do. I measured width, length and depth in multiple locations, the shelves, the shallows, the bottom, etc. When I was all done, I tossed those numbers in the trash and kept the max width, max length, and the max depth. I figure if I round all of the numbers up to the max, I should have extra liner enough. I also added an extra 18 inches to each number for overlap on to the ground. Reservoir Pond 168 inches wide (14 feet) 132 inches long (11 feet) 40 inches deep I then used the algorithm width + (2 * depth) + 18 extra inches... 168 + (2*40) + 18 = 266 inches (23 feet rounded up) 132 + (2*40) + 18 = 230 inches (20 feet rounded up) So a 23x20 liner will do. Veggie Filter 120 inches wide (12 feet) 60 inches long (5 feet) 16 inches deep I then used the algorithm width + (2 * depth) + 18 extra inches... 152 + (2*16) + 18 = 170 inches (15 feet rounded up) 32 + (2*16) + 18 = 92 inches (10 feet rounded up) So a 10x15 liner will do. |
