First waterlily bloom!

And it's the mini changeable-color lily from Wal*Mart a few years back. A
pretty peach colored blossom. :-)

You already got lilies in Tennessee? No fair! It sounds beautiful.

It is beautiful. I love these mini waterlilies but they propagate very
slowly. I have 3 of them now.

Our iris bed near the pond is starting to bloom as well. The water iris are
a little later to bloom.

=============
It's the same lily as I posted on the binary group. But that pic was from
last year. These minis are the first to bloom in spring, bloom throughout
the heat of summer and keep going until the first good frost. My darn PC
has a software conflict we can't find. The flash-card reader doesn't work
anymore so it's a real PIA to unload the camera now.

OK whenever you can do it...but I would love to see them. My NR does not
carry any binary groups....

How do you buy such a lily?
Is it in a box, dry?
I have a Wal-Mart here and would like to get one : )

They are dry in a plastic planter container, with light cardboard around
them with a picture of the lilly.

The new ones they have are even better.. they have a atificial mockup of the
plant right on top, and have a clear clamshell lid over the top.

We really liked the value we got from ours at walmart.. after 2 years, we've
split them off into almost a dozen good looking plants.

==================
They have them different ways. Sometimes in bags of damp stuff and
sometimes in boxes. Check to make sure they're not dried up and dead or
moldy and dying. They will refund your money if it dies. Every year they
have water lilies but this was the only mini I ever saw them carry - that
was 3 years ago. This year they have pathetic "cuttings" that have roots
about 1/2" long. Most looked about dead. Yes I open the packages and LOOK
before I buy. These are the worst I've seen them carry, but bought 3
anyway. I accidentally gave away my red and my pink lily last year so had
to replace them.
