I want to plant some bushes and flowers around my pond to hopefully drink up
some of the water when it rains. The yard back there holds water bad at
times.
Any suggestions guys and gals?

Do you mean iris or calla lily that likes moist dirt or bogs? Or plants that
actually soak up water?

I used Iris pseudoacorus to dry up a spot where a large industrial air
conditioner discharged.

Yeah, plants that actually will soak up the water around the pond after it
storms. I live on the coast and we get storms off the ocean this time of the
year.

Priss...I had an area like that. I made it into a tropical area with banana
trees, elephannt ear, green taro, ginger lily, louisiana iris and cannas. I
then used large flat stones built up a little for a walkway thru the middle.
