I'm going to plant Elodea Crispa in baskets.

Should I plant the bunches as they are sold or separate the strands?

If they haven't complained during the day I doubt they would at night (but
I could be wrong). If you have fish and a filter you need to run it 24/7.
Unless no filter, and few/small fish. Still not good for the pond not to
have circulation, at least use an air pump/stone.

If you shut it off your fish can suffocate. Run some other type of aerator
so that doesn't happen when the main pump is off.
