Speaking of Herons

This morning my son and I rode to the beach for a morning jog.
When we came back there is this huge Heron in my driveway!
It wasn't white but a dark grey color.
But the thing wouldn't move when I pulled up.
I pulled up right on it and it just looked at the car and tilted its head!
I had to blow the horn before the thing flew off!
Thats a mighty brave bird!
I should have drove over its butte.
But I think their on the endanger list aren't they?

They are in the migratory species act.
Which still means you can't run over them
in your car...
By your description it was a Great Blue Heron,
almost done in for their pretty neck plummage
on lady's hats, the increasing casual trend in fashion is good for a lot of
critters. The increasing skimpyness in fashion is good for all fabrics, pretty
soon they won't use any at all (but that is another subject from one who is
involved with teenagers...)
