my filter...

I believe it was Bonnie who asked me what type of filter I have. I cannot
remember exactly, but I got it at Wal Mart so it is probably a Better Homes and
Garden brand. I do know that I bought the largest one they had. I was digging
through my shed and came across an above ground swimming pool filter that is no
longer in use. I think I can convert this and use it as a pump and filter for
the pond. does anyone have any suggestions on how I might do that? I also
have 2 old 50 gal. oil drums that I thought I could clean out and maybe run the
swimming pool pump/filter to these barrels, maybe fill one with air conditioner
filter pads and maybe lava rock in the other, then have it run back to the
waterfall. Does anyone have any better suggestions? I do not have a lot of
money to spend, and am trying to do all this using things I have lying around.
Maybe I should have plants in one of the drums to act as a veggie filter?
