Do I have to treat my water before putting Koi back in?

I just finished my stream and veggie pond and filled it back up (bout
4000 gallons). is it safe to put my Koi back in the pond or do I have to
treat the water somehow? I used ground water but it goes through a
filter to make it drinkable.. will that hurt the fish? I really want to
put them back in.

Thanks
Mike

Recommend testing the water first! Hope you have the
basic test kit. You'll want to test for:
ammonia, pH, NitrIte, Nitrate and if possible KH.

I would also like to suggest adding Stress Coat and Stress Zyme (good
bacteria) to the water.

No, I don't own stock in the company that makes this stuff LOL. That
isn't why I have mentioned these two additives a few times. Really works
well in tanks and ponds.

thats fine. you need to add organic dolomitic lime back to the water if there isnt
sufficient calcium and magnesium or hardness in the water so it is buffered. Ingrid

Well water is low on 0xygen so it is good if you have a waterfall or a
fountain to get some Oxygen in the water. I always make sure I spray
the water in the pond to Oxygenate it. It probably is safe to put the
fish back in if you are not over stocked. Happy water gardening.
