pond aerator question & dogs

We have a 1/4 acre pond. I would like to get an aerator or fountain for it.
However I am looking for something solar powered as we have 5 dogs who swim in
the pond & I am fearful of them getting electrocuted.

Anyone know of a place to obtain a solar aerator or fountain?

All the solor power pumps do is use 12 volt DC current instead of 120 AC. So
what you are really looking for is a 12 volt DC pump. 12 volts wont hurt
anything.

I am not an electrician, and I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last
night, but I think it would be safe to say a properly grounded GFI
installation would prevent any potential for eletrocution.

Best aerators for large ponds, are shore mounted minicompressors (1/4
horse), with weighted tubing, that are good to 35 ft of depth.. some even go
deeper.
Mine puts of 1.5 cfm thru a 12 transducer (fancy name for neoprene disk
about 10 inches of so in diameter)
Disk has been in place for 5 years, and has never even needed to be pulled
up for cleaning!
Fish have grown larger than before compressor was aerating pond.
There is no 110 volts in the water.
GFCI provides VG protection, but not 100%, as there is a momentary discharge
before cutoff, that has been shown to cause kinked backs in fish near the
faulty cord/pump, etc.
Without GFCI, the whole pond would have likely been lost.
Even with compressor out of water. I agree on need for GFCI for all outdoor
outlets.
Happy ponding,
Greg
