Default Blanket weed

The only thing that ever seemed to kill the blanket weed in my pond
was the Tetra Pond Balance. It is however prohibitively expensive.
Anyone have any clues as to what its active ingredients are?
Anybody have any other suggestions for blanketweed?
TIA
