After months of planning, weeks of work and a trip to emergency our first
pond and stream is up and running. There is still some planting to be done but the . We're pretty happy with the end result. We're especialy happy with how well the stream worked out with the relatively small pump we used (NurseryPro NPU1000, 50 watts and about 600 gph after head and friction losses). The pond is about 350 gallons so far has cost us about $570 US including plants. Up to now the water has been nice and clear once the initial construction muck settled. There are 12 small comets in residence who appear happy. I'm interested to see how the water quality holds up, given the fairly basic level of filtration we have. Nothing major. I put a finger between a patio stone and a lump hammer when I
was replacing the patio stones after putting in the conduit for the electrical supply. It looked and felt bad at the time but in the end nothing important was damaged and all they did was put some holes in the nail to relieve the pressure. -- Mark "BenignVanilla" wrote in message ...
