fingerling catfish feed (easy to find) ideas needed

I am looking for some ideas to feed my golden catfish that is in my koi
pond.
It must be something that sinks fast because the koi seem to beat the
fingerling
to it all the time. I have heard of chicken liver (raw), anything else cheap
and easy to get?
Thanks,
Bruce

The catfish will eat bugs that find their way into the pond.

I used to feed my catfish the same little sinking pellets I feed my
aquarium fish. I'd toss them in near his favorite hiding place while the
goldfish & turtles where busy chowing down on the floating stuff. Now
that he's big (18"), he come to the top and feeds with the others but I
still give him occasional sinking pellets as a treat.

Catfish are survivors, and can fend for themselves.

As a boy, I went to an old factory site that was flooded by the Mississippi
river in the 1940's. One old concrete basement was filled with crystal clear
water. There were about a dozen large catfish in there. They were skinny,
but at least 2 feet long. We were thinking about swimming in there, but
those catfish looked too hungry.

Any kind of sinking fish food will do but if he is too small to compete you
might have to keep in an aquarium until he gets bigger.

remove nospam from e-mail to send to me, I grow trees in aquariums like bonsai.
I breed dwarf crayfish, great for planted community tanks. If you can get me a
shovelnose sturgeon fingerling (Scaphirhynchus platorynchus) no wild caught
please, contact me
