Especially the scene where they stop in mid-battle and build a pond
with a nice waterfall.

The question at this household is how long
can we hold out? For the slightly claustrophobic
we don't like to attempt movies until the crowds
thin out. But we have every confidence that the
movie will be well worth waiting for. Really waiting
for since it was 30+ years since dh and I read the
books for the first time!

Have to agree, saw this yesterday and thought it was amazing. Can't wait for a
repeat viewing.

We are going to watch the first extended DVD on Saturday, the second on
Sunday and then see the Return of the King on Monday.... Our son has already
been and is already saying that they HAVE to put out the extended DVD NOW.

yes. "two towers" extended version has 43 minutes extra . I find the
extended versions are much better than the theatrical versions. No pond
version tho.
