pond vacs

Anyone have any experience with the Shop-Vac 16 Gallon, 6.5 HP Pump
Series Shop Vac? It is $99.00 at Lowes and pumps the water out as you
vacuum it in. MUCH cheaper than the Pond Vac at over $275.00+. My
neighbor just got a Pond Vac from his wife.

The 6.5 amp is going to fillup the 16 gallons in about 60 seconds. It is
amazingly fast.
If you are using this for occassional cleaning of leaves, I'd suggest that
its too strong. For
cleaning major stuff or empting the pond, its great. And don't forget to
remove the filter.

Ok. THANKS! I think it may be just what I need. The Pond Vac seems
just so expensive given that it is pretty much a wet/dry vac with an
added bell or two.
Have a great Monday!

I use one of these... mine shuts off when full, then after the wand is
lifted out of the water, turn it back on and it will pump the water
out of the container.

However, we have discovered it will pump and empty continuously.

Unless the filter is gunked up, then I have to empty it manually, and
clean the filter.
