Power to Your Pond
 

I recently built a new 3,000 gallon pond. I'm currently operating my pump
(OASE Auquamax 3700) with an extension cord plugged into a GFI outlet on my
back porch to an outdoor 3 outlet power stake that I've used in the past for
Christmas lights. Obviously I need to do something more permanent. I was
looking into purchasing a Cal Pump Power Control Center or similar set up
and have an electrician hard wire this up for me but wanted to get input
from this group first.

Does anyone have any experience with these? Offer another solution? I've
pasted the specs from the control center below.

I don;t use a power control center, but AZ Ponds has them on a so
called monthly special right now.....Can't say if its a good price or
not, as I just happened to see it while looking for a pump,. Its on
sale now for $89.95


Just looking at the specs you posted, if your gonna wire it up hard,
why wopuld you need a 50' outdoorpower cord. I would susupect you
would want to bury the power feed line to it and not have to fool
around with cords above ground, or you could keep on using your
present setup..........Just becasue a cord is rated for outdoor use
does ot mean it can be buried....so that aspect of the control center
may be wasted. ANother is fuse protection.........most everyone uses
circuit breakers today not fuses........Then again not much is given
on this control center at AZ Ponds in regards to specs..........just
thought I would mention it.
