Frog feeding

Today it was nice and sunny here in SW Ontario. I peeked under the plastic
I covered the pond with and at least 15 frogs were sitting on the rocks
absorbing the warmth. Water at the top read 45F.

We still have 4 - 5 inches of snow and there are no bugs around. Should I
feed the frogs some pet shop crickets?

Thanks,
Heather

I'm sure the frogs would appreciate a cricket
lunch if the temps stay warm. You might want
to watch the weather closely.
They are temperature driven. If the temperatures
drop they will go back to their torpid state. Could
be going back to snoozing with a full tummy of
undigested cricket would be a bad thing.

I wouldn't feed them for the same reason I don't feed the koi and goldfish
when the temperature can plummet.. Allow nature to do her thing.... :-)

NO

It's still too cold for them to digest anything.
