Hail can sure wreck water lilly leaves
We had one heck of a hail storm this past weekend, on two seperate
ocasions within abaout 2 hours time frame. Hail the size of golf balls came with the first storm, and the second storm brought enough hail to totally cover the ground and make it white, about the size of nickels.......Then again last night we got yet anbother heavy hail storm about nickel size once again. Sure made a mess out of the nice new leaves my lillys had.........I guess probably 75% or better of the lillys I had planted this year had at least 4 or 5 nice leaves on the surface already, and were looking super....now they are tattered and look pityfull......Well its early in the season here, so there is ample time for new growth. My water temps are in the low 70's and everything is already pretty well greened out and growing. I think the iris (whats left of them anyhow after the hail) should be blooming in a couple more days....... ============================================== Put some color in your cheeks...garden naked! |
