how long to rose blooms last?

I planted 3 rose bushes this year, so they are young. They keep
blooming, but the blooms don't last that long before the petals fall
off. Then its waiting for new buds to grow and rebloom. I prune the
old blooms off.

Is this normal? Somebody told me that once they bloom, the flowers
are supposed to stay for quite awhile?

It depends on the type of rose you have,
as well as weather and other conditions.
I would recommend patience, since your
roses are only recently planted. It can
take months or more for a rose to become
established. Once they're established,
you will get a better idea of their
performance.

are you pruning properly? you want to cut just above a branch of five leaves
some only have three or two. you should get continues blooms if you proon
properly. the flower does not last all that long. i have 1 long stem rose
bush.the flower on that one lasts longer that any of the others. i have about
10 rose bushes some of the flowers last longer than others. proper pruning
will give you more blooms. they may last longer as the bush matures.miracle
grow makes a formula just for roses i believe it helped my newly planted
bushes really take off. also water at the base not the whole plant. they do
not like their leave getting wet.

Your plants are young, you've enjoyed some blooms. It's time to be patient. I would remove all the buds and thereby encourage it to rest. Instead of letting your plant bloom itself to exhaustion you should encourage it to focus on creating a stronger root stock this year.
