HELP! Rose leaves fell off

Im a grape farmer - no expert on roses, but I have been growing about 20
rose plants for the past 4 years. My oldest plant and my favorite put out
the most beautiful bloom this spring. Because its a climbing rose, I wanted
it to grow up an arbor that I made; therefore I did not cut it back very
hard.

After bloom, I noticed that it had a few bits of black rot. I sprayed it
right away. After several weeks the rose petals started to fall and I
started to dead-head the plant. At this time I noticed THERE WAS NO NEW
GROWTH. There were no new leaves produced since flowering. At this time
there are just about no leaves left on the plant and most of the cane is
starting to harden.

Do you think this was because of black rot? Because I did not prune it back
enough?

Is the plant going to die? Should I cut it back now?

Please help!!!!!!!!!!! Like I said, Im an expert on grape growing but I
feel like fool because my prized rose bush is about to die on me.

HELP!1!!!!!!!!

What was the spray used ?

That might be the real issue.
