I would like to post for advice on growing roses, but not sure if
there is a better usenet group I should look to. Lots of ads here for
Viagra. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Your first problem is that you're using google to read it. I understand,
you probably don't have an alternative, but google doesn't filter out
anything. I'm not seeing any sadguydrug ads, myself.

Secondly: It's winter. Okay, the Texans seem to be a little active, but
for people like me, the only rose activity I'm indulging in is looking at
catalogues.

I would have to agree, although we in the snow belt are will to chat a bit
if there is something interesting to talk about. Also, there are some of us
who do a bit of indoor rose gardening in the winter, so post away.

I wish I could look at catalogs. I'm trying to cut back
on my roses, although of course I just bought two
replacements for two that died ... I compromised
on one Tea, Hermosa, since Teas do really well in
my area, and one Hybrid Tea, Peace.

Active - but there are the MI etc spammers that have taken over the news groups.

This is it - and it works nicely. We are in the process of planting ourselves.
I came home today with 3 Pecans and 3 Bur Oaks - We wanted both and they were
being given out so I snagged my share.

But I had to water the roses as they are budding and a high wind was here today.

There are some really informed people that answer questions and pose some
themselves. So fire away - maybe you will get answers in due time.

Fair enough.....I just bought my roses from the catalogs today, so I
guess I will get my post on when they arrive.

Twenty eight 28 of the spammers tonight. I caught them all in a filter.
Such is life.

Our roses are budding out all over. We are continuing our task to build
the garden and we have a master gardener (friend) coming over to bail
us out :-)

Took delivery of three Burr Oaks and three Pecan trees. More planting
but glad we have room. The Burr's have a 100'+ wide breath.

I hope we get to see them that size and in good health!
They will be used as a Sun break of the hot late afternoon sun.
We lost (neighbor) a massive oak 24" or more last year. The yard
is showing the overheating.
