self watering pots

How do you find the self-watering pots? I had been concerned that it would
end up leaving the roots too moist but after this last January (that was hot
with no rain) the roses in pots just dried out too quickly.

In the US, you can get them via mail order from Gardeners Supply (
http://www.gardeners.com ). They also sell "kits" to adapt non-self-
watering pots to self-watering. I'm actually ordering one of the kits
later today to convert a large pot I bought over the weekend.

In addition, Lowes and Home Depot also sell self-watering pots. THey
tend to be all that I buy these days unless they don't have one in the
size that I need. (as in the aforementioned pot that I am buying the
adapter for) I must admit that I do prefer to buy pots locally as I
hate to pay shipping on them.
