Some simply start later than others. My mother's Queen Elizabeth
hasn't bloomed yet either, while her Betty Boop is putting out like nobody's business. In my yard, Pebble Beach, Taboo, and First Prize are just now forming buds, yet Brigadoon and Kentucky Derby are in their second flushes of blooms. QE may have problems with your climate (I have heard it can be fussy), but if you only planted it this year, it's certainly too soon to declare a verdict. They could just be taking time to get used to their new environment. Mine usually flower in mid summer and then last for weeks if we don't have
too much rain. "torgo" wrote in message ... Some simply start later than others. My mother's Queen Elizabeth hasn't bloomed yet either, while her Betty Boop is putting out like nobody's business. Three years ago I planted, what was called a QE climber. As I recall
it didn't bloom until early summer the first year, last year and this year, it bloomed in late April (Central US). Note: It does not look like a QE (too orange) and neiter is it a climber, in a typical sense. What color should a rose be?. . .rose of course. Climbing Queen Elizabeth is a dud - it almost never flowers despite being an immensely strong grower. The bush form is much better. If that's what you have, be a bit patient. Feed the bush generously - it grows big and tall. Without feeding it will bloom for you once it's established, but you'll get better results sooner with fertiliser. |

I grow QE in pot. So its probably a couple of weeks behind. But it has put out several buds. QE is a sun hog. 7-8 hours min. -- Theo in Zone 5 Kansas City "Gregg Alemy" wrote in message igy.com...
