Default Roses in Costa Rica ???

I was wondering if anyone might know where to find information about rose
growing in Costa Rica. I hear different things about the climate. Panama
is next to CR and some people who have been there say it rains 9 months of
the year. I don't think roses would like this.
The country is varied but I am mainly thinking of the higher elevations (not
down by the beach).
Anyone know where I could find this information?
Thanks,
Paul
