I don't think that anything is always thornless, but you can try going to helpmefind.com, going to their rose section and searching on the class list "Thornless or almost thornless," seeing what roses you find, and checking for suppliers in Britain (they list suppliers all around the world). A few random looks at roses listed under that category shows that Peter Beales and various other British suppliers have many of them. Good luck! Mark. |

'Zephirine Drouhin', the old thornless climbing Bourbon with flowers of a
cerise pink, shouldn't be too hard to find in the UK. Also, the Hybrid Perpetual 'Reine des Violettes'--flowers well described as "lavender-rose with a velvety violet center"--is practically thornless, and should be available from dealers in "old" roses.
