Knockout Roses
Question: I planted 2 Knockout Roses this past Spring. They bloomed right
through Oct. My question is, Do I need to prune them back for the winter? Also, if I should prune them, will they grow fast in the Spring/Summer? I live in Zone 6, York PA. in the northeast USA. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, SteveR |

A little information and education goes a LONG way toward successful roses!

NOT pruning or cutting for the table or deadheading signals to the rose that it is time to go dormant. The biggest threat in your zone is to have roses with the juices up in the canes that are producing new growth when a cold snap happens. It can kill the plant, especially a young plant.. Make sense? |
