that is what I told myself, but with this hard water muck soap doesn't
lather like it should

You just need a measurable quantity of soap, not just a molecule.

The big advantage is that you get to wash the soap off easily instead or
rinsing for 20 mins.

you only get that problem if you apply soap is if you were in a hard water
area. I've known lasses washing who were shocked at how little soap powder
they needed.

As they drifted out to sea on a raft of soap bubbles that refuse to
disperse.....

Mind you I suppose you may not have graduated to pipes in your area so
heavy metal contamination may not be a problem. OTOH you may still
inadvertently be relying on 'advanced' roman infrastructure so there may
well be concealed leadwork about.

actually I know there is a fair bit of 'asbestos' water main about.

Gosh, such utra-modern stuff in your area?
Middle of the last century at least.

After all nailing tax collectors upside down on the church door went out
of fashion in the more advanaced parts of the UK in about 1350. I hope
you have taken him down now.

not while there are still good pickings for the birds, after all one has to
farm in an environmentally friendly manner, and even crows and magpies have
to eat.

This is indeed true.

But why did you put the environmental health man up there too?
