Roses

Hi everyone,
Has anyone got any experience with planting potted roses at this time of
year? I know they could be planted in September, but I wasn't able to do it
then. Should I winter them over in the pots & plant in February/March? Or is
that too late? Help!
Dianne

Roses

Scott,

It's chancy planting them this time of year depending on your zone.
Just make sure that you trim them back and cover them with mulch for the
winter months.

Roses

If you live in the Austin area, this is an ideal time to plant just about
anything. Especially this week where we expect rain every day. Roses like a
well ammended soil, so use quite a bit of compost. Dig the hole two to three
times bigger than you need to fit the rose, and mulch well. Don't do any
pruning till Valentine's Day.
