The predicted height of plants in seed catologs

I wonder if the same thing happens to you guys. Nothing I planted last
Spring came out what was on the seed descriptions. My o'clock were 4' and 5'
tall rather than the 2' on the seed package. I had cosmos get 7' tall, even
the white sonata cosmos were nearly 5'. They were beautiful but got so ugly
when they started flopping over each other. I will plant them again because
they were very pretty but somewhere close to a fence or trellis so I will
have a place to tie them upright.

Any other plants I should know get bigger in Texas? I'm in New Caney - north
of Houston.
Thanks

One of the reasons this happens, particularly in Texas is that, we have two
short growing seasons, vs. one very long one. Most every plant will have the
opportunity to grow larger in Texas if it like heat and drought.
