where can i find bluebonnet seeds in bulk? by the ounce? pound? buying
little packages is ridiculous; since i have acreage in the country in
bastrop county. any suggestions? please post for all to enjoy...

The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center would be a good place to start.
There is also that wild flower farm outside of Fredericksburg. Here's a
link to the LBJ Wildflower Center: http://www.wildflower.org/.

You missed the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center spring plant sale
yesterday. Members get an announcement and can attend an early sale on
Friday. Membership is inexpensive, and there is a fall sale.

It is a too early to broadcast bluebonnet seeds. Wait till seed pods form,
dry, and burst on the wild ones (late August or early September). Don't
get scarified seeds or acid treated seeds unless they have a guarenteed
source of water. Broadcast the seeds for at least 3 years. Here is my
theory: buy seed from 3 sources and broadcast 1/3 of each for 3 years (The
seeds are easily stored). Be aware that when your flowers reproduce, they
will throw seeds a good distance.

ground, waiting for the right conditions to germinate.

Hmmm wonder what the homeowner's association would say if I planted
wildflowers and did away with my lawn....? Then they wouldn't have to send
me anymore letters about how I need to EDGE my lawn.
