Default Will You Sell Me Some Homegrown Tomatoes?

I love tomatoes. A lot. I would like to buy homegrown tomatoes throughout
the summer...I like to eat about 2 per day...I am in S. Austin, near IRS/VA,
and would prefer close-by. Please advise. Thank you.

Look for the farmers markets.

Why don't you grow your own? Living in an apt. is no excuse. They do
just fine in pots. :-)

Try sweet 100's for an overdose. lol 2 or 3 of those should fix you up!

I have gone to farmer's markets several times and found the tomatoes rot
quite quickly...
I am well aware of container tomatoes, but do not wish to grow my own.
Hence, my "ad."

You can't stock up on food products that do not contain additives that act
as preservatives, and keep at room temperature for more than a few days. A
little green may lengthen its useful life as food product.

And get your complaints if I can't provide you with two a day? No, thanks.

I live in an apartment; there are no single-family houses around here.

I willingly accept that there is not an answer to this quandry that suits
me.

Please do not be embarrassed that you
1. misunderstood the question;
2. grow plants that are substandard.

I accept that there is not an answer to my quandry in this newsgroup.

Please do not be embarrassed that you:
1. Posted the question in the wrong NG to be understood - austin.food would
have been more appropriate; what a shame that you made such an ass of
yourself over there.
2. Fail to understand tomato cultivation in Austin and are unaware that
quality cultivars stop producing once nighttime temps rise above a certain
level in summer.

Please stick to posting in your True Crime and Atlanta Braves groups,
trollsem.

Not homegrown tomatoes which is what is in question here. :-)

He's a semi-troll, posting nonsense on Austin.food like "Austin can't
support more than one CM because only one of my friends has ever shopped
there."

If he *really* wanted homegrown tomatoes he'd either grow them in a pot,
frequent the farmers' markets, sign up for a community garden plot, or
befriend a neighbor who gardens or who would "loan" him a plot - or any and
all of the above.

However, if he wanted to play the troll, he'd post an imperious demand on
austin.gardening then get spitty and insulting as he shot down helpful ideas
one by one.

I'll leave the deciphering of his true motives as an exercise for the
reader. G
