Labor for Lawn Leveling
 

Hi There,

I would like to put some top dressing on my lawn but would like someone to
do it . It is going to be about 12 cu. yards. Can someone recommend a
service that will be able to do this at a reasonable price. I'm in the 290w,
Nutty Brown area of town.

I don't know anyone in that business, but I would ask at Geo Growers which
is located right there on Hwy 290. If you have identified a different
supplier for the top dressing, ask them for recommendations.

As "Jonny" pointed out in the " Low mow, now dead lawn!" discussion, this
is the wrong time of year to add top soil over your lawn. You should check
out the references I gave in that discussion thread:

Head further west on 290. Turn left on RR12 in Dripping Springs. On the
right after you enter the city limits of Wimberley, look for the Catholic
Church on the right. Workers will be standing out front in early morning
hours. Going rate is 7-10 dollars an hour for these laborers. They will
need transportation back. Spanish language fluency on your part is a plus.
INS doesn't seem to bother the area to date, so don't fret. Have the soil
topping and tools ready for use, and an external drinking water source for
the workers. Just don't do it right now as pointed out. You have plenty of
time to do some homework on the project.

Make sure you with hold and report the Income Tax to IRS - You do know it is
against the law not to.
And you do know it is against the law to use illegal aliens. But what the
hell, everyone does.

You don't need to continue on to Wimberley, you can get them at Dripping
Springs Rental. OK, OK, across the street from D.S. Rental in the D.S.
Postoffice parking lot. But sometimes they ARE at Dripping Springs Rental.

Well, not everyone. I got some minor arthritis in my elbows after building
a garage, running/burying electrical and plumbing to the garage some 150 ft
away from the house. Then, soil and sod around the house after it was
finished, followed by a fence around the house. I did have help doing the
final painting on the inside of the house from one of my sons.
