Strange Bug

Been finding a few of these on the tile next to one of my indoor plants.
Anyone have any idea what it is?

Actually, it is a shrimp (found by searching for "bug that looks
like shrimp")

Lawn Shrimp. A kind of pill bug:

Bingo, thanks for identifying this one. I have another strange bug that
appears on my cactus in the spring. I'll post a photo of it when they
arrive next year.

Thanks again for helping me out.

Good find Steve!
I used to play with pill bugs as a child and I've never seen those
before. :-)

I pretty much leave pill bugs alone as they make good composters.

Wonder what lawn shrimp are good for?

Teeny tiny cocktails. G

It looks as though they don't do any harm; merely a cleaning nuisance when
they die indoors or in a swimming pool. I'll have to keep an eye out for
them - I always like to see a new critter (new to me at least).

Sure don't look like a sowbug/pillbug to me.
http://www.livingwithbugs.com/sow_bug.html

If these are indeed the insects, you're breeding them with decaying
inorganic matter and watering practices. Read the weblink. They definitely
don't like the indoors if in AC conditions on a tile floor.

I was almost induced into believing I saw 4 sets of legs, NOT. Look again
at the original weblink photo. Here, kitty, kitty, kitty.

Thanks Steve,

Your first post directed me to the correct ID. Looks like Jonny either
didn't look at your followup, or was just trying to stir up the pot a
little.

Thanks again for ID'ing this "mystery bug"

Take Care,

Scott
