My cat gets a few but it hardly dents the population. I declared war
on the ones around my house several years ago and now have very few.
My storage areas are now mostly absent from the accumulating feces,
shell pieces and exfoliated skins.

I am more than happy without them. Oh, the war did not start until I
found a big one chomping down one of my female praying mantises. That
was the last straw. How I finally settled on doing this is like using
one of the aerosol wasp sprays - sans any pesticides.

Oh, another one shorted out a relay in my AC unit and I had to go in
and remove the carbonized carcass to get the AC working again.

I personally would rather tolerate fire ants.
