Will Vinca's proliferate? Or stay with one main stem?

Vinca is one of the most invasive weeds I deal with, if that answers
your question. :-)

Vinca major, no. V.minor, yes. It will become a wonderful ground cover if
that's what you want. I have to tear my back every spring after it blooms.
Since it's one of the first things to bloom, I do leave it for any early
insects to make use of. When other perennials peek through it, I hack at it
with a good, sharp pair of pruning shears.

Sorry, these are single stem periwinkles I'm talking about.

I suggest you look up V.major and V.minor and decide which you have. Common
names don't help. If you have V.major, it is not invasive.
