St Augustine Grass Discoloration
 

Since this past spring, sections of my St. Aug. yard have a greenish-yellow
discoloration. It appears in patches - not throughout the entire yard. The
grass still grows vigorously. It just looks bad.

I put some Ironite down on part of it to see if it was an iron deficiency.
If anything, that section was even worse. Anybody know what might be
causing this?

could be grubs but my guess is still iron deficiency. Ironite takes forever
and you must install a very heavy dose(s). I had the same problem this year.
I bought liquid iron in a bottle that attaches to the hose end and sprayed
my lawn several times. Worked well.

St Augustine Grass Discoloration
 

Do you have a dog? Dog pee will really discolor the grass and sometimes dogs
will go repeatedly in the same spot until the grass is killed.

St Augustine Grass Discoloration
 

You might try an application of Texas Greensand. Works better and lasts
longer than Ironite. If you have any reason to suspect the areas might be
one of the fungus problems then some corn meal would be called for. The
corn meal is also a good fertilizer so even with out the fungus you may want
to give it a shot, and to top it off a good organic fertilizer at this time
of year is also recommended.
