When it needs it!

As soon as it gets shaggy and the ground is dry enough. Some years I have
cut almost non stop through the winter.

Did mine about 3 weeks ago.

Set your mower to it's highest setting, and do it in the afternoon when any
dew/frost has had a chance to dry off

When it gets long enough to require it. First cuts of the year tend to
be a bit of a juggle between the ground being to wet and the grass to
long.

I don't expect to have to get the mower dusted off until mid April or
early May. The first of our Crocuses are just begining to flower, most
are still just tight buds or just leaves. Daffs are now up to 4"
shoots but as it's got cold (5C) again in the last day or two
everything is "on hold".
